The service
What solar panel cleaning involves
Solar panels are an investment, and like any investment they need looking after. Over time, panels collect a film of dust, pollen, traffic grime, moss and bird droppings that sits between the sunlight and the cells.
CNW Clean cleans solar panels with pure water. We also offer solar panel inspections and bird proofing, so you can keep your system clean, checked and protected with one local firm.
Panels are usually on roofs, which means access needs care. We have decades of experience working at height, and our own cherry pickers for installations that are hard to reach.
Why professional help matters
Working at height is the most common cause of serious injury in domestic DIY. A professional team removes that risk from you and your family entirely.
Experience counts. Our team members each have more than 20 years' service, so they know how to treat different properties properly and spot problems you might miss.
Insurance protects you. We hold full public and employer's liability insurance and are SafeContractor accredited, so you're covered if the unexpected happens.
Our Recent Work
Real jobs from across Chester, Flintshire and North Wales. Windows, gutters, solar panels, driveways and more.

What happens when it's ignored
Dirt blocks sunlight
A layer of grime on the glass reduces how much light reaches the cells.
Bird droppings and shading
Droppings and debris create patches that sunlight can't get through.
Moss and lichen
Left alone, organic growth can creep across the edges of panels and frames.
Unsafe DIY
Climbing onto a roof with a hose and brush is dangerous, and the wrong products can damage panels.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Climbing onto the roof to clean panels yourself
- Using household detergents that leave residue
- Assuming rain keeps panels clean, when it often just moves dirt around
- Ignoring nesting birds until there's a mess under the panels

Solar Panel Cleaning in detail
More detail on solar panel care for homes and businesses.
Pure water cleaning
Pure water is water with the impurities removed, so it dries without leaving spots or residue on the glass. It's a gentle way to clean panels without detergents.
Solar panel inspections
An inspection gives you a clearer picture of the condition of your panels and their surroundings. See our solar panel inspections page for more.
Bird proofing
Gaps under panels are a favourite nesting spot for pigeons. Bird proofing helps keep them out, along with the mess and noise they bring. See our solar panel bird proofing page.
Residential solar panels
Most domestic installations are on pitched roofs. We clean panels on homes across Chester, Hawarden, Mold, Pen-y-ffordd and the surrounding area.
Commercial solar arrays
Larger arrays on commercial and industrial roofs need safe, planned access. We're SafeContractor accredited, fully insured and IPAF trained.

Why CNW Clean
Why local customers choose us
Family run since 1979
Les started CNW Clean in 1979. His son Adam joined in 2006 and has run the business since, adding cherry picker hire along the way. That's more than four decades of looking after homes and businesses in the same part of the world, and a reputation built one job at a time.
The same experienced faces
Our two vans are crewed by long-standing team members, both with more than 20 years' service. You won't get a different stranger every visit. You get people who know the area, know the work and treat your property with care.
Our own access equipment
We own two Nifty Lift cherry pickers, with 12m and 15m working heights, both fully LOLER tested. High or awkward jobs don't depend on hiring equipment from someone else, so there's less waiting and no hidden access charges passed on.
Straightforward to deal with
Free site visits, no call-out charge, no deposits and a clear price for each job. Every job is backed by our 24-hour satisfaction guarantee, and you can reach us on the office line or Adam's mobile.
